Meet & Greet
The name "Tuesdays" is an inside joke in our family. It’s what my daughter Ramona calls her underwear.
It all began when we bought her a pack of days-of-the-week underwear and started teaching her the days of the week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, etc., when she really hung on to the word "Tuesday" and associated that word with underwear itself. Forevermore she called her underwear "Tuesdays." Welcome to Tuesdays: my perspective on what it means to be a mom — and so much more.

Things I Didn’t Buy This Week
Everyone who knows me knows I love stuff. There, I said it. This is not sustainable, chic, or admirable — but there it is. I am a magpie for the accumulation of beautiful items, much of which resides in my closet. I have become more discerning with time, and adopted the fewer but better ethos, but there’s no denying it; I like shopping for myself, and sometimes, even professionally, shop for others (HMU).
So, in this weeks things I really really really wanted to buy, but didn’t — we have The Row banana bag in suede, the small size. This bag has been around for awhile now, but the suede was calling my name. In my mind I justified all the reasons I truly needed this bag. I didn’t have any chic designer, yet kid friendly bags— read: hands free. I had a holiday planned and this was the perfect walking about (again hands free) with the kids bag. I could use it in so many various occasions of life (did I mention I’m very good at justifying purchases and excellent at girl math).
That said, I don’t make $2K purchases on a whim and I decided to sit on my hands and see what I already owned. And you know what?! I did have a bag that was similar in size and could function as a cross body bag. It was my early 2000’s OLD Balenciaga motorcycle bag. I think this was one of my first designer bag purchases. I loved it then and now for the same reasons. I can use the top handles or the shoulder strap (and because I’m short-ish I can use the shoulder strap as a crossbody strap). I love how light weight it is, and I love the multiple pockets it has. Now that Kate Moss (90’s child here) is out and about sporting the new version of that same old bag, I dug mine out of pseudo-retirement. If you don’t have this bag from the first go around when it was a hell of a lot cheaper, The Real Real has some! If you really can’t get The Row banana bag out of your head, here is a sportier dupe in a ripstop material, however, try a few weeks with something you already own and see if you can avoid clutter and buying yet another “it” bag.
Things I Did Buy This Week
Really ugly, yet somehow cool, and perfect cargo shorts. I adore a skater vibe sprinkled into my classic wardrobe and saw these Raey shorts styled on a couple of amazing fashion people
being one of them (Charon Cooijmans pictured below ) and decided to bite the bullet when they were marked down quite a lot on Matches Fashion. For the kids I bought these cool stackable and movable stepping stones. My girls both love them! Can be used indoors or outdoors and added bonus — they are easy to clean and are stackable so easy to store.
Mom Hack
One of the hardest parts of losing me time over the last 5 years is my lack of reading time. Lately I either truly can’t find uninterrupted time, or I’m so spent that the most I can do is listen to a podcast, or much more likely scenario, half watch a K-drama while doom scrolling on instagram. Yes, I watched Queen of Tears (let’s talk).
My new life hack is a combination of audiobook + reading the actual book. Outside of the genre I normally read I decided to read the Dune series after watching the 1st of the two latest Dune movies. I listened to about 1/2 of the book on audio when I’d take my weekend walks and wasn’t with the kids and then found the spot I left off on and read the physical book in the evenings, but in general; audiobooks which I was slow to adopt, have become my replacement for book reading. One I highly recommend (not all audiobooks are equal) is Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, I realize this book is from 2022, but like I said I’m falling behind on pleasure reading.
Thanks for tuning in!
